VETERAN WORK PROGRAMS
Training and opportunity in the garden industry.
Our vocational programs are part therapy and part career development. We focus on participants' whole-body healing while developing critical skills for entering the field of horticulture.
Our curriculum covers the basic skills of horticulture and extends to the more advanced learning. We train veterans on propagation, plant pathology, hydroponics, aquaponics, retail sales, greenhouse management, landscaping services and entrepreneurship. Online courses and classroom learning combine with hands-on training.
CONSERVATORIES, GREENHOUSES AND GARDENS
We secure land to build first-class training facilities. These facilities range from production facilities to conservatories designed to welcome the public.
Our programs include a research component to allow for ongoing evaluation and the measurement of outcomes. We track participant's learning and their entry into the horticulture profession.
We engage local communities in the development of our vocational programs. We understand what food growth is in demand without displacing existing growers. We partner with colleges and universities to maximize exposure and resources. We work with employers to understand unmet needs and opportunities for growth. Our graduating veterans then go on to engage hard-to-place workers so we can extend the reach of our vocational programs.
